TLA BIG DEAL 2019 Competition: The Fifth Regional Finals Held in Kragujevac

This year marks the ninth edition of the corporate law case study – Big Deal project and its fifth international competition, organized by the members of TLA Top-tier Legal Adriatic.

The aim of the Big Deal project is to deliver practical knowledge of corporate law to top law students from across the region, entirely modeled on real M&A case-study, through simulation of a sale and purchase transaction.

This provides students with an opportunity to address practical legal issues that occur in a commercial setting. TLA (Top-tier Legal Adriatic) lawyers pass on their knowledge and experience to students and assist them through their subsequent graduate period. Students gain invaluable practical experience which is likely to be of great benefit to them in their future careers. From May to the end of November, when the finals took place, experienced lawyers from TLA member law firms transferred their knowledge and experience to students while helping them go through the preparation and execution of an M&A transaction as quickly and as easily as possible.

Big Deal semi-finals and finals were held on November 28 and 29 in Kragujevac. Out of five teams that competed this year, teams from Ljubljana and Belgrade qualified to the finals. The University of Belgrade Law School team is the 2019 competition winner.
